Tourist Family – Tamil Comedy-Drama | May 1, 2025
Overview
Get ready for a heartwarming comedy-drama that celebrates the power of kindness, community, and new beginnings. Tourist Family follows a quirky Sri Lankan clan as they relocate to India in search of a fresh start. What begins as an outsider’s struggle to fit in quickly turns into an uplifting tale of transformation—both for the family and the disconnected neighborhood they call home.
Synopsis
When the tight-knit Tharmadas family crosses the Palk Strait, they arrive in a quiet Indian suburb brimming with isolation and indifference. Patriarch Tharmadas (M. Sasikumar) dreams of giving his loved ones a better life, while his wife Vasanthy (Simran Bagga) brings humor and heart to every household chore. Their son Prakash (Yogi Babu) tries to bridge cultures with slapstick antics, and their elderly friend Richard (M. S. Bhaskar) offers sage advice (and occasional mischief). Through impromptu block parties, surprise gardening projects, and infectious Sri Lankan hospitality, the Tourist Family shows that even the most insular community can blossom under the right care.
