Meet the Artist: Shritha Baskar
Shritha Baskar, a Kathak danseuse from Dubai, began her dance journey at the age of five under the tutelage of Guru Smt. Ketaki Hazra. Trained in the prestigious Jaipur and Lucknow Gharanas, she earned her Senior Diploma in Kathak from Surabharati Sangeet Parishad, Kolkata, at just seventeen. Shritha has performed at numerous prestigious events, including the Festival of India, and has earned acclaim for her ability to merge traditional Kathak with a modern narrative.
Now, Shritha continues her training under Guru Smt. Nayantara Parpia in Chennai, where she not only hones her craft but also teaches Kathak to special needs students. Her debut with Arani marks an important chapter in her career, showcasing her dedication to pushing the boundaries of classical dance.
