There will be temples constructed in honor of MS Dhoni, the god of Chennai: Rayudu Ambati

IPL 2024, CSK vs. RR: Ambati Rayudu hinted that MS Dhoni temples would one day be found in Chennai. The Super Kings defeated the Royals at the Chepauk by a margin of 5 wickets on Sunday.

To Put It Briefly

  • Ambati Rayudu claimed that MS Dhoni may have temples in Chennai dedicated to him.
  • Many well-known people, like Rajinikanth and Khushboo, own temples.
  • CSK defeated RR by 5 wickets on Sunday.

Given MS Dhoni’s accomplishments for CSK and India over the years, Ambati Rayudu declared that shrines honoring the player would be constructed in Chennai. With their easy 5-wicket victory over RR on Sunday, the Super Kings moved one step closer to earning a spot in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 playoffs. Third in the points rankings, CSK has won 7 of their last 13 games to accumulate 14 points and a net run rate of +0.528.

If CSK somehow loses in the playoffs, Dhoni’s season at MA Chidambaram Stadium is already finished. Over the years, fans have built shrines honoring their favorite idols, like Kushboo and Rajinikanth. Given the happiness that Dhoni has brought to the people of Chennai and India, Rayudu stated that he might potentially be put to the list.

“He is the God of Chennai, and I have no doubt that MS Dhoni temples will be constructed in the city in the years to come,” Rayudu said to Star Sports. Dhoni has won two Champions League T20 matches in addition to his five IPL titles.

He is credited with bringing two World Cups to India and numerous IPL and Champions League titles to Chennai. Rayudu said, “He has just been that one guy who believes in his players and has always done it for the team, for the nation, and for CSK.”

“Everyone in the crowd cheers him; he is a legend. They may be considering the possibility that this is his final game in Chennai, Rayudu continued.

Dhoni and the Chennai team did a celebration lap at the Chepauk after CSK’s victory over the Royals, thanking the audience for their support this season. Additionally, the audience expressed their gratitude to Dhoni and the Yellow Army for entertaining them.

The Super Kings and Faf du Plessis’ RCB will next face off at Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Saturday, May 18.
